A New Method for Converting Trace Theoretic Specifications to Signal Transition Graphs
نویسندگان
چکیده
The specification of delay-insensitive, asynchronous circuits can be undertaken in a variety of ways. Two methods discussed in this paper involve Trace Theory and Signal Transition Graphs. Trace Theory is used to describe the behavior of circuits in terms of sequences (or traces) of signals. These traces can be composed to express cooperative behavior. However, the resultant composite often suffers from an explosion of states and transitions, which makes it difficult to visualize synchronous and concurrent behavior. By employing Signal Transition Graphs, which are a kind of Petri net, this problem can be ameliorated. In this paper we summarize both Trace Theory and Signal Transition Graphs and describe the advantages we have found in using both interchangeably. The bulk of the paper is devoted to a new technique we have devised for converting Trace Diagrams into Signal Transition Graphs. This technique allows us to readily exploit the benefits of both Trace Theory and Signal Transition Graphs.

Generating Discrete Trace Transition System of a Polyhe-dral Invariant Hybrid Automaton
Supervisory control and fault diagnosis of hybrid systems need to have complete information about the discrete states transitions of the underling system. From this point of view, the hybrid system should be abstracted to a Discrete Trace Transition System (DTTS) and represented by a discrete mode transition graph. In this paper an effective method is proposed for generating discrete mode trans...
متن کاملTrace Amounts Determination of Vanadium (V) Using a New Kinetic-Catalytic Reaction System
This study describes a new simple, sensitive and selective catalytic kinetic spectrophotometricmethod for the determination of vanadium (V). The method is based upon the catalytic effect ofvanadium (V) on the oxidation of Carminic acid by bromate in sulfuric acid media. The reaction wasfollowed spectrophotometrically by measuring the decrease in absorbance at 490 nm and thedependence of sensiti...
متن کاملA Game Theoretic Approach for Sustainable Power Systems Planning in Transition
Intensified industrialization in developing countries has recently resulted in huge electric power demand growth; however, electricity generation in these countries is still heavily reliant on inefficient and traditional non-renewable technologies. In this paper, we develop an integrated game-theoretic model for effective power systems planning thorough balancing between supply and demand for e...
متن کاملHigh level transition systems of CSP specifications and their application in automated testing
State of the art quality assurance for safety critical software systems requires formal methods for verification and testing. The context of this thesis is the field of specification based testing of embedded reactive real-time systems. One of the drawbacks using formal methods to model large systems is the state explosion of transition systems generated from formal specifications. In this PhD-...
متن کاملA region-based theory for state assignment in speed-independent circuits
State assignment problems still need satisfactory solutions to make asynchronous circuit synthesis more practical. A well-known example of such a problem is that of complete state coding (CSC), which happens when a pair of different states in a specification has the same binary encoding. A standard way to approach state coding conflicts is to insert new state signals into the original specifica...
